Faux Opal With EasyCast

This is the fourth gemstone I recreated with EasyCast:  Opal!

It is very dark and pouring rain in my world.
I wanted to take a better picture of my results but the sun is not cooperating with my blog deadline.

If you have been following the blog I am using recipes designed by Marie Browning to create gemstones with EasyCast.  You can find all these recipes here.
To create Opal the recipe is super simple!
Pour a thin layer of EasyCast into a mold cavity.
Add iridescent Mylar flakes or cut a piece of a Mylar sheet.
I have had this iridescent mylar in my stash for years and years!
I just knew that one day I would need it.
Okay.  After you add the flakes: LET CURE!
Then you need to top off the mold cavity with a final layer of of mixed EasyCast coloured with Castin'Craft White Opaque Pigment.
That's it.  Let second pour cure.
Faux Opal.  It looks amazing in person!
